Frequently Asked Questions

I am new to tanning indoors...Are there some precautions I need to be aware of?

Yes!
Don't try to rush your tan. A tan should be obtained gradually.
Gradually increase your exposure times, 1 to 2 minutes at a time. 
Consult your physician if you are taking any medication. Some medication can cause extra sensitivity to the UV light, causing overexposure. 
Also consult your physician If you have any type of skin irritation or other condition.
Always wear protective eyewear!! Ultraviolet light will penetrate the eyelids.


Do I really have to wear eye goggles?

Yes! It is very important! Your skin can tan - your eyes can't! Federal law requires all tanning salons to be sure customers wear proper eye protection. This eyewear must meet federal government standards by blocking 99% of UVA and UVB rays. Closing the eyelids or using sunglasses or cotton balls is not adequate protection as the UV rays will easily penetrate these things and continue into the eyes.


What is the difference between low pressure units & high pressure units?

Low pressure units emit both UVA & UVB at a low energy level. Low pressure units will give more of a red tone tan, and you'll need to maintain more often. High pressure units generate UVB, & UVA, but by means of a sophisticated filtering system, only UVA is emitted during a tanning session. It will take fewer sessions with a high pressure unit it to build a golden tan and to keep it. 


I just can't get any darker. What can I do?

Your skin actually becomes thicker as your tanning progresses and makes It difficult for UV light to penetrate the upper layers of skin. This is commonly referred to as a tanning
